LELA

Maria José da Silva, better known as Lela, is an artisan from Aracaju. She owns a shop called "Lela Bordados" in which she sells various types of lace and embroidery at her city's Tourism Center. The artisan has a team of twenty women who practice traditional stitches and techniques with types of crafts from the regional culture, such as Lela who learned from her mother the art of embroidery and weaving.
