TIAGO CARASSA

A resident of Vila Carassa, in the small town of Prados, Minas Gerais, Tiago Carassa was one of the artists invited to participate in the Arte Brasil - A Look project. Without pre-defined molds or models, Tiago creates beautiful lions and giant lionesses carved in wood that are the highlight of his work. A member of a family of artisans, he learned the craft as a child and continues to make a living through his art. Those who visit the small town cannot miss the giant lions and lionesses carved in cedar by brothers Guto and Tiago Carassa. The sculptors were invited to participate in the project Art Brazil - A Look. From photographs of the pieces, Lisi Wendel and Tales Morigi have produced a series of paintings and canvases that seek to capture the essence of these works. Part of the amount collected from the sales of these paintings will be reverted to Tiago with the objective of encouraging Brazilian artistic production.
